Hi Sid, I have a 38 Plymouth that I just wrapped
up the Mechanical work on. I chose a 302 Ford engine
over the SB GM just for that reason. I didn't
want to have to move the firewall back which sets
moving the seat, pedals etc back as well. All the
SB 350 changes I've seen have had the firewall
modified/moved back. The EB Ford has a shorter
block and therefore doesn't require the firewall
to be modified. However, using the SB ford will
mean you have to use a push style electric fan
rather than the pull style waterpump fan. I am
considering switching over to a GM 350 in a few
years so I would be interested in any information
you might get if a firewall modification is not
required. What type of front end do you have?
I just put a Scott's IFS in mine. The front is too
low. I need to change over to 14 inch Alden shocks and
move from a 300 lb spring to a 400-500 lb spring.
I need a 13 1/4 inch ride height up front. I'd be
interested in the type of front end you have. The
ride height and spring ratings you have. If you
think I can be of help please let me know.

Glenn
