Hello guys. I am a fairly young (19) enthusiest. In aprox. 3 months I am going to be either rebuilding my current set up or getting a crate engine.

I have right now a '84 K5 Blazer 4x4 with a '91 TBI 350. It runs like absolute crap... Massive hesitation and weak as anything. I think whoever did the swap skimped out on the computer stuff or something.

Anyway, my blazer is HEAVY (arround 6,000 lbs)!! I want to get some pretty decent gas milage and performance out of it. Im thinking arround 300 - 350 HP or so, and a 350 or maybe even 305.

My dilemma is this:

#1 Would a 305 built to 350 +/- HP get better milage than a 350 built to the same power?

#2 Would I be better of in ease of repair, simplicity, economy and gas milage with a carbureted or Fuel Injected engine?

Im thinking right now that I should ditch my 350 TBI and all its computerized crap and get a junk yard or rebuilt carbureted 350/305 and put in some nice heads, new high performance carb, cam, and intake and possibly supercharge it.

Do you think that this would give me some decent power to economy ratio?

All opinions are apreciated.

Thanks alot
Ryan
